If we judge by the statistics, largest number of tourists in Croatia choose private accommodation as a place where they will stay during their holiday. Nothing wrong with that; on the contrary.
So, most people look for neat and clean apartments, shops and restaurants should be close to the house,
not to mention the sea and beach. However, not only you have such requirements.
As a result, you have houses (with acc. offer) in a row or even an entire apartment complexes. Even worse, often the whole cities and villages were built only from the need to rent accommodation. Using every inch of space, apartments and rooms often look like bee hives.
Neighbors on all sides. Nothing wrong with neighborly relations but at least then you could bring your own neighbors from home? Or not?
Why not try something completely different?
There are lots of houses in a remote areas, usually located in the bays near the sea. Some are built in traditional style (but modern and fully equipped), some are quite ''normal'' and customary homes.
Regardless of their style of building, their common characteristic is that they are isolated. Without the noise
of traffic, no sign of delivery vehicles at six in the morning, without the crowds on the beach.
What does it mean when we say '' isolated houses''?
Houses of which we speak are usually a few kilometers away from the main traffic routes (road leading to them is usually gravel) and
from the nearest village and town.
Same thing with the nearest shop, grocery store, pharmacy or a petrol station. Usually people give up here. I say, is it hard to buy groceries for two or three days in advance
or fill a reservoir to the top before the arrival? Pills for a headache and a first aid box you already have (?) and in the event of some serious accident in any case you must see a doctor.
If every single night you have to walk along the promenade and sit in a restaurant or cocktail bar, this is not the place for you but you can even do this because you are not at the end of the world.Most owners of these houses will be happy to bring you groceries if you want, fresh fish, vegetables and fruits.
Staying in private houses which offer accommodation means that you will be able to make a better contact with local's, local customs, etc. We can say that a vacation in private facilities is much more relaxing than staying at the hotel.
Most important, you will not be seen just as a number of tourism statistics.
Your host will always have time for you, your questions and your wishes. Peace and quiet, secluded beaches nearby without the smell of sunscreen lotions, clear sea with sea urchins (be careful not to step on them).
Take a diving mask, a few books, maybe the camera and that's all you need.
